3) The name Remus also has ties to wolves. It comes from an old Roman story about twin brothers named Remus and Romulus, who were raised by a wolf.
4) It is rumored that told Alfonso Cuaron (the director of the Prisoner of Azkaban) told David Thewlis to play the role as a “gay junkie”.
5) J.K Rowling says that Lupin was one of her favorite characters in the entire series and she cried when having to kill him off.
6) Lupin being a werewolf was used by Rowling as a metaphor for illnesses that have stigmas associated with them. She wrote him being a werewolf as being similar to someone having AIDS/HIV in the real world.
