How many wizarding schools are there?

The best known ones are the four that we mentioned in our quiz above. That includes Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, and Ilvermorny. After doing some research, it turns out that there are 11 total Wizarding schools across the World. Here are some details about some of the lesser known ones:

Uagadou School of Magic

This school is based in western Uganda and accepts students from all across Africa. Uagadou is the largest of all the wizarding schools, according to J.K Rowling. The school is well known for three subjects, Astronomy, Alchemy and Self-Transfiguration. It is also said that some of their students can use transfiguration to turn into animals like elephants and cheetahs.

One notable alumni from the school is Babajide Akingbade. He became the Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards, succeeding Albus Dumbledore.

Castelobruxo

This school is based in the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil and accepts students from all over South America. The school is well known for two subjects, Herbology and Magizoology. Their robes are also said to be bright green.

One of the most famous students is Libatius Borage who was a famous potioneer. Borage wrote Advanced Potion-Making, which is used as a Potions textbook at Hogwarts. João Coelho also attended the school. Coelho is the captain of the Tarapoto Tree-Skimmers, who are a popular Quidditch team.

Koldovstoretz

This school is based in Russia and accepts students from all over Russia. It is said that students play Quidditch at the school using an uprooted tree instead of a broom. Not much else is known about the school.

Mahoutokoro

This school is based in Minami Iwo Jima and accepts students from all over Japan. This school is said to be impressive at academics and also outstanding at Quidditch. Not much else is known about the school.

What Are The Remaining 3 Wizarding Schools?

There has not been an official reveal of the 3 remaining schools. A popular theory though is that one of these schools is located in Australia. This is because J.K Rowling teased a potential Australian Wizarding school but it has never been officially confirmed. It would make sense though to house students from that region.
